Roasted Cabbage Steaks

IMG_3611This is a really simple recipe, and a great way to add more cabbage to your diet, as well as a nice change from your typical raw cabbage recipes! This recipe was so good, I ate a whole cabbage head in one sitting!

So…let us begin!

You will need:

– 1 head of cabbage

– 2 tbsp coconut oil

– 1/2 tsp turmeric

– 1/2 tsp salt

– 1/2 tsp pepper

– 1 to 2 cloves garlic

Step 1: Preheat the over to 400 degrees.

Peel off the outer layers of the cabbage leaves. Wash the head, then cut thin steaks lengthwise through the head, about 1/2 an inch thick.

Step 2: Place on a lightly greased pan and brush a bit of coconut oil over each steak.

Mix the salt, pepper and turmeric together, then sprinkle over the cabbage. Lastly, chop the garlic in thin lengthwise pieces and place on top:

Step 3: Bake the cabbage for about 20 minutes, then take them out and carefully flip them over. Bake for another 10 minutes or until the entire cabbage is golden brown.

Once the cabbage is done, it should look golden brown and roasted on the sides. Take it out and eat it separate, or combined with potatoes, carrots, or any other side you wish.
