Chocolate banana nut butter dessert

I was looking for a satisfying, easy sweet treat to munch on throughout the week, and when I found some macadamia nut butter in the store, I knew I had to make some sort of dessert with it.

Turns out I had bananas at the house that I needed to use, so I decided to go all out and make a delicious banana treat I could keep in the freezer to munch on whenever I felt like it.

This dessert is fresh, delicious, and with the addition of coconut flakes it brings the whole thing to the next level. It’s also healthy and easy to make, so what’s not love?

So without further ado…let us begin!

You will need:

  • 3 bananas
  • 1 cup of melted dark chocolate (I used 85% cacao)
  • 1 cup of coconut flakes
  • 1 cup of macadamia nut butter (you can use any nut butter you want)

Step 1:

Melt the dark chocolate over a double broiler (water in a pan on low heat, with the chocolate in a small pot inside the pan with water) until it’s nice and creamy

Step 2:

Slice the bananas lengthwise or round, and arrange on a plate, tray, or container, just make sure you can fit them in the freezer

Step 3:

Spread the nut butter on top of the bananas. This will hold them all together once frozen

Step 4:

Spread the melted chocolate over the nut butter, adding as much or as little as you like.

Step 5:

Sprinkle the coconut flakes on top of the melted chocolate, again adding as much or as little as you like

Step 6:

Place in the freezer to freeze. This takes about an hour to fully freeze the snack. When you want a nice piece, just cut or break a piece off, and enjoy!

This dish will stay good for a couple weeks in the freezer, just make sure to eat it all before it gets freezer burn!

Enjoy!
