This is a great morning, post or pre-workout smoothie. The raw cacao powder and coconut blends perfectly together with the walnut milk and mint to give it a refreshing winter taste! Most people use mint solely as a tea or consider it a flavor in toothpaste, but few realize that fresh mint leaves contain a bevy of health benefits that are often forgotten. Mint leaves help with digestion, nausea and asthma, as well as help to clear up your skin and even works as a mood enhancer! So pick up a fresh batch of mint leaves at your local store and let’s get blending!
You will need:
– 4 frozen bananas (fresh works as well)
– 2 to 3 cups coconut walnut milk (if you need a recipe for walnut milk, check out my coconut walnut milk, it’s delicious!)
– 1/2 cup shredded coconut (you can also use fresh coconut meat if you so desire)
– 1/2 to 1 whole stalk of fresh mint leaves (try to buy organic if possible)
– 2 tbsp raw cacao powder
– 3 tbsp coconut sugar
– 1 tsp. vanilla
Throw everything into your high powered blender, and blend until smooth and creamy. Poor into a glass, garnish with some remaining fresh mint leaves and drink up!
