Cucumber Apple Kale Smoothie

This is a refreshing smoothie which you can drink as a breakfast or snack. The ingredients in this like cucumber and celery are great for your skin, while lime, kale and coconut water contain great detoxing properties as well as minerals and vitamins to replenish your body. There are several options for making this smoothie, and it all depends on how tangy you want it to be. For a the full detoxing effect, you can add the entire lime in the smoothie, peel and all. Eating the lime peel will give an extra boost to your skin, and heal your body from the inside out. It also helps fight harmful bacteria, and is great for your heart and arteries. If you don’t want as sour a flavor, you can settle on just using the juice of the lime instead of the whole fruit. And if you want extra sweetener, add in some stevia to help it out!

So…let us begin!

You will need:

  • 1 large cucumber
  • 2 green apples
  • 3-4 stalks celery
  • couple leaves of kale
  • 4-5 cups coconut water
  • juice of one lime, or the entire lime
  • Optional:
    • 1 squirt of stevia
    • 1 tbsp spirulina powder

In your high powered blender, add in the cucumber, apple and coconut water. Remember to cut the seeds out of the apple before adding in, as these are toxic and not good for you. You can also either squeeze the lime juice in, or cut the lime in fourths and add to the blender.

Turn the blender on high and blend the four ingredients, then slowly begin to feed the celery sticks and kale leaves in until everything is fully blended. At this time you can also add in the stevia and spirulina powder if you wish.

Pour out into a glass and serve!

This is a wonderful smoothie to wake you and make you feel refreshed, ready to take on the day!
